Maybe you’ve heard that poorly designed landing pages perform just as well as “high-end” landing pages …
Let’s look at some of the common issues we see with landing pages and CRO and address them. Landing Pages have poor design, but have great copy. Landing Pages have excellent design, but poor copy. Landing Pages have poor design AND poor copy. Landing Pages are nonexistent (sending traffic to Home Page, Product Page, About Page). Landing Pages are not up to date (info missing/expired). Landing Pages are not mobile optimized. (probably the most common issue)
As a step 2 (or 3) of a funnel, landing pages should be designed to Educate your customer about why you sent them there and Equip them with the information they need to make a decision. For an example, check out this page we did for NYC Medspa, BeautyFix.
Let’s get to it –
The first thing is, whoever said copy is more important than design … is hands down correct. Great copy is the backbone of conversion. However, like our own human anatomy, you can’t build a functioning body with JUST a backbone. (Also, yes, you can’t build a body WITHOUT a backbone…)
- Stop sending traffic to pages that look like a headline and a form.
- Stop sending traffic to off-brand landing pages.
- Stop sending warm traffic to your home page.
